Vitamin D fights all phases of Influenza

Update Sept 2020 Perhaps the influenza vaccine will increase the risk of COVID-19 (it did by 2X in 2009 Coronavirus pandemic)

How you can greatly cut your chance of getting the flu (vitamin D just twice a month)

Fact: People who are low on vitamin D have weak immune systems

Group with >38 ng of vitamin D was 2X less likely to get viral infection (from previous reference)

Nice graph from "More Viral Infections if vitamin D deficient- June 2010"

Fact: People who are obese are very low on vitamin D (vicious cycle)

Cochrane Group studied Vaccine twice - and did not find compelling evidence

Suite 101 Jan 22, 2011

“According to the Cochrane foundation, over 200 viruses cause influenza and flu like symptoms such as headaches, runny nose, aches and pains, fever and coughs. They rarely lead to serious illness or death and it is impossible to provide a single flu vaccine to protect against these myriad viruses.

The Cochrane study found that in the highly unlikely scenario of the vaccine matching the predominant flu strains circulating that season, one in hundred people who got the flu shot developed flu symptoms compared to two in a hundred who did not get the shot. Hardly a ringing endorsement for the benefits of the vaccine!”

Not good enough results from the 75 studies to make a recommendation for the vaccine

The following graph from Chochrane shows that having more people vaccinated does NOT decrease the rate of flu attacks

If more vaccination decreased flu attacks, the data from around the world would have followed the (added) pink line
Many observers comment that the flu vaccine is not much better than a placebo.

Natural News A scientific look at flu season vaccines Sept 2010.

“Flu season shots, you see, simply don't work on 99 out of 100 people”.
“In other words, you would have to vaccinate 100 people to reduce the number of people showing influenza symptoms by just one.
For ninety-nine percent of the people vaccinated, the vaccine makes no difference at all!”

Influenza vaccines only prevent the flu in 1.5 out of 100 adults (not 60% as you've been told) Natural News Oct 2011
