I still cannot understand the retiscence of these researchers and those in NZ to do the trials properly. Despite many RCTs showing that dosage upto 5000IU in a normal symptom free person is very safe they continue to use sub-optimal doses. As you say, they are probably aiming for a "high" level of around 20ng/ml (seems some of their cohort might have reached 30ng/ml) Yes, I do wonder if they know how much more dosage is required to reach "healthy ideal" levels of 50ng/ml for all the cohort.
Also in regard to the comment on NZ restrictions. The restriction is on the purchase or importation of doses more than 1000IU per capsule/tablet. You can buy as many 1000IU doses as you like. I had my BioTech Pharmacal package stopped by customs because they are 1650IU per capsule (recommended dose of three caps= 5000IU). They did release them to me after a strong argument. So in fact the regulations are not stringently enforced. I am hoping that the next review of the regulations will see some change. Possibly doubling the allowable dose.
I would like to know if anyone in NZ (without bone pathology) has ever managed to get a prescription for vitamin D.
“One pill every two weeks fights diabetes, cancers, heart failure, and 18 other diseases.”
